Postinor-2 contains one blister sheet containing two round white tablets. Each tablet contains 750 micrograms of levonorgestrel and the following inactive ingredients: potato starch, maize starch, silica colloidal anhydrous, magnesium stearate, talc, lactose.
Postinor is thought to work by stopping your ovaries from releasing an egg; preventing sperm from fertilising any egg you may have already released. Postinor can only prevent you becoming pregnant if you take it within 72 hours of unprotected sex.
The recommended direction of use is taking the first one as soon as possible after unprotected intercourse and the second tablet taken 12 hours after the first. If you have taken both tablets at once, it shouldn't cause any serious side effects and will still be effective.
